Everyone Loves A Wedding

...and we have had our share of love. What with TWO weddings within a years time, we are just grateful we still have our wits about us.

On the day of the wedding, things are pretty hectic and can be extremely crazy for the mother of the bride... ah, hem... ME!

So as long everyone showed up for the group wedding photos, looking half way chipper and clean, I didn't care (or apparently even pretend to care) where they were in between "events" of the day. Which by the way, a day that started at 7 in the morning and lasted well past 11 in the evening.

The wedding party.

Brides family.

NO Elijah! Don't you dare....those are for
the maid of honor. This is NOT baseball.

Poor Anna's feet were not only sore, but filthy after
walking around barefoot on temple grounds.

This was the most beautiful hall I have been in and
it looked so elegant after the "sisters" and I had set it up.

I just found the pictures below on my hard drive. I have no idea which little family imp took these, but I laughed when I found them. Looks like there was a lot going on in between the wedding and the dinner and reception. Now that I think about it, I was just a little busy helping set up the dinner tables and reception hall and helping to make sure everything looked perfect!

Never for one moment did I think to ask anyone "where are the other kids?"

My kids.

So, really does that make me such a bad mom? Never mind... no one answer that.

Who me?

Notice the flip flops?!

I had no idea there was a little creek close by and could
not figure out why the bottom of Elijah's pants were wet.

Been There, Done That!
Didn't I just do this a few months ago?

Elijah certainly has been such a great sport about his older sister's weddings. He has been dragged across the nation, missed out on parts of his summer, and most annoying to him has to be the fact that he has been forced to wear his "stupid suit way too much!" (His words, not mine!)

The look on his face says it all though. However, some other comments that come to mind might be "didn't I just do this in October?" Or how about "When is lunch? Forget lunch, when was breakfast?" Then, the comment that Elijah did make that made me smile, was "I do get to decorate their get away car tonight...right?"

Yes, Elijah you do.

...and yes Elijah you did!

Elijah with his Uncle Scott and Papa (My father)

Brooke B., Annelise, Jessica T, and Elijah
blowing up balloons to fill the car. This
was the highlight of Elijah's day and night.

Elijah wanted so badly to do Katie and Kai's car when they were married in October, however...Kai hid his car good and no one was able to get to it except Kai.

Rachel, on the other hand left her car out for all the under 25 crowd to abuse and violate!

Although Dustin and Rachel ended up riding away in a horse and cart, it was quite funny to see Mindy (Dustin's mom) have to get into the car and drive it away to another meeting spot. Oh how I wish I had a picture of that!

...and we're off!
On the family reunion/wedding 30 day adventure.

Before I sign "off" for a while, let me share with you the "gem" my 22 year old bride to be (for time's sake, we will refer to her as BZ.. affectionately shortened for Bridezilla!) related.

BZ: Mom you need to give "so-in-so" a little more lattitude...

Me: Huh? What do you mean, she is doing dumb stuff, and why should we have to cover her you know what?! That girl needs to get her act together.

BZ: Well, mom.... her mom is not very ... shall we say.... nice?

Me: You mean, she's "meaner" than me?

BZ: LONG pause.... then followed with a weak "yeah, I think so!"

Not that the "yeah, I think so" bothered me. It was the long, I have to weigh that one, pause my daughter gave me!

So, it's going to be an interesting flight and trip. I am looking forward to everything coming up... well, with the exception of this:

This does not excite me and scares the ca-rrrrap out of me, what if they make me do this.

We will report back to you!

If You Liked The Cupcakes...
You should see her cheesecakes!

Where to start... oh where to start.... sigh.

...and we are talking cheesecakes worth dying over!

Today Darla and Jodi hosted Rachel's wedding shower~ brunch. Darla made the most yummy pesto and chicken filled croissants along with her famous broccoli salad. (My favorite salad of all time. I am going to post the recipes for all the brunch dishes. Not sure Jodi is sharing her cheesecake recipe's.)
May I just exclaim now, Oh my!?

If you thought the cupcakes Jodi made for Katie's open house were incredible, take a peek at these cheesecakes that she created to make Rachel feel so special today. I felt and actually acted like a little kid in a candy shop. Walking around "oooing and ahhhing" at the delectable desserts. I just didn't know where to start.

Who wouldn't feel special with masterpieces like Pink Lemonade cheesecake, adorned with lacy filigree and chocolate polka dot initials. A two layered true, not to sweet chocolate, and creamy cheesecake topped with a beautiful mouth watering chocolate transfer complete with the sweet swirls the name implies. My favorite? White Chocolate cheesecake with fresh raspberries. Do you think you can keep your mouth from not watering? What I really want to know is this... Jodi, will you share these recipes? Oh YUM!

Do you think Jodi would wince if she knew I had three full servings?
A piece of each cheesecake? Maybe she didn't notice!

Darla made sure Rachel was all decked out as the party girl. Complete with a HUGE over the top enameled "D" to wear around her neck. In honor of Dustin.

Susie, Darla, Rachel, & Annelise

Some of Rachel's closest friends, teachers, neighbors, and even her awesome employer came to share in her bridal bliss.

Rachel with Kristen, her employer. Kristen has told Rachel
and me several times how much she is going to miss having
Rachel as nanny to her three young children. This is the job
that I will take over from September until December.

Susie with Susan, our sweet next door neighbor.

Everyone who came today, I think, had a great time, but no one had a better time than Rachel giving Annelise devil horns. Get a load of that face she is making. Poor Annelise! She puts up with it from on top and below. Both Rachel and Susan are always teasing. Annelise is no match for their quick wit... and that's a good thing. I don't think I could take FOUR smart a.s.s. girls. That's all right though, I wouldn't want them to be anything other than who they really are! I love my daughters truly. (Elijah too...but this is a "girly" post per se.)

Thank you Darla and Jodi. I love you two so much. I am always amazed at how much Jodi sacrifices to make these beautiful creations for my daughters. The work that always goes into these events is quite time consuming and I am at a loss of words as to how Jodi manages to make it all seem effortless.

Wedding Invitations = Family Time!
...that would be "mandatory" family time.

It took us, in the words of Annelise, "like a million nights" to finish the invitations...

Well, more like a week! ...and it was a collective effort from everyone in our home this past week.

But, I think we are done!

That makes me happy and I know Rachel is happy to be done!

A black and white picture of Dustin & Rachel
will accompany each invitation.

I love these invitations.

Thank you Annelise for helping.

# 143

Dang.... where's the Sharpie when you
need a perfectly drawn mustache?

With all our knowledge on wedding etiquette over here In The Land of Foyts, you can rest assured that these invitations will rival those of Katie and Kai's. Yes, these lovely little pink numbers will also host the famous Liberty Bell postage stamp. (Click here for more on stamps and wedding fun, last October, with daughter #1!)

Nope!

You're not going to find any routine, tired, wedding stamps in this "sea of pink."

Not here!

We thought we would start a new tradition.

Aren't they bee-u-tee-full???

The invitations... that is!

From the Ultimate Party Girl Comes This...

Yesterday, Rachel announced with great fan fare and excitement where Dustin and she are headed for the honeymoon... I am thinking.... Europe? Cancun? Hawaii? None of the listed!

They are headed to Disney World.

Really! I kid you not!

Rachel, "why don't you go somewhere nice, quiet and private for your honeymoon?" I inquire... "Why?" she asks. Then in true Rachel fashion exclaims... "I want to have fun!"

She's all yours Dustin!

Note on picture: This was taken when Rachel dressed up as a tourist for a BYU Halloween party.

... And The "Fun" Continues!
Date & Time Set for Rachel & Dustin

So.. Rachel and Dustin have settled on a few very important things in their wedding planning. They have chosen August 30 at 1 PM to be married in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.

We thank them for choosing a little later time frame this time around. Ah hem.... Kai and Katie were married at 9 AM in October in the Salt Lake Temple. That was early!

I personally love the Salt Lake Temple. It is beautiful and we all know our way around Salt Lake fairly well. More so than other areas here in the United States. I mean, if you are going to do the long distance wedding, best do it somewhere you are very familiar with.

Let the fun continue with this next go around!
